Doug Hesketh has had a career that has seen him and his family travel the world. He is a qualified tradesman in two trades, Electrician and an Instrument technician. He has developed strategically planning skills for maintenance teams and extensive leadership training and qualities as well as a Diploma in Front Line Management.
He has been delivering positive results and managing people with these skills in every aspect of his life. What has run parallel with this has been his association with Soccer or Football or quite simply the world game.
This started many years ago as a boy growing up in Liverpool. At 15 he was invited to trial with Liverpool Football Club and although unsuccessful it remains a proud personal achievement. He did an FA coaching course and played in the local and Cheshire Leagues before his travels took him further afield. Always making it into competitive leagues in USA, NZ and Australia a full time career in the game was not to be.
He continued to play up to veteran’s premier league level winning the league’s player of the year in 1994 before devoting time to support his son’s love of the game. Both have and are still achieving excellent results including state selection, playing positions in Australia, Asia, Wales and Holland.
